MD Course Structure

MD is a 5 day, project based programme consisting of a series of plenary sessions, tutorials, a case study presentation and screening.  MD will address: 

  • Understanding audiences and consumer behaviour
  • Developing marketing plans, positioning and strategy
  • The marketing campaign: market research, the creative process, media planning and buying, digital marketing tools and social media
  • Publicity and promotions
  • Digital exhibition and distribution
  • Innovation in digital media - new marketing tools and trends
  • New business models and new markets
  • New distribution - multiplatform release strategies
  • Devising international sales, distribution and film festival strategies

Tutorials & Consultation

Each participant will be assigned a tutor to provide consultation and guidance throughout the course. During the tutorials participants will devise a marketing campaign and distribution strategy for their Course Project. 

Five participants will be chosen to present their course project marketing and distribution strategy to a panel of film industry professionals for their evaluation.

MD Target Group

MD is addressed to up to 25 film executives with experience in production, marketing, distribution, acquisitions, sales or exhibition of feature films, as well as marketing executives from other fields who want to move into the film industry.

Professional Network

The programme will enable participants to significantly expand their professional network of contacts both with the other participants and attending experts, all players in the entertainment industry.
